Well nothing really went according to plan, we got got by our own stupidity
Although it feels like it's out of our hands, it stays in our heads through mindless publicity
It shouldn't take this long to understand, you can't solve all of life's great mysteries
But humanity feeds off the imagery of passed down tales taught throughout history

And just cause you heard them say, “this is the only way”
It doesn't mean your perspective is any less subjective

We're not meant to be a part - a part of the problem
Without first admitting our failures how will we solve them - it's a mutual involvement
The meaning of life, in itself, is a hoax - a hoax
Have we all fallen victim to the punchline of the longest running joke?

Shape your future into what you desire, don't let regret be your final confession
Cause when it all comes down to the wire, all we have is our dreams and the way we address them
Hope is the spark that ignites the fire, it's in everything that breathes but it's not often mentioned
